Family-owned and – operated on Stearns Wharf since 1981, Nature’s Own Gallery is featuring a Labradorite Ganesha this month. After almost 40 years on Stearns Wharf, Nature’s Own features shells, fossils, minerals, jewelry and gifts from around the world.
Nature’s Own is in a unique location on the Wharf. The store is tucked into the inner sanctum of shops, so people don’t always realize it’s there and do not go in.
When they do come in they almost always say “this is such a beautiful store, how long have you been here?” The owner, Judi Bruskin replies “My family has owned and operated the shop since the wharf reopened in 1981.”
Judi ventures out every year to find the best the world has to offer, she has just returned from a buying trip and now the store has been restocked will hundreds of new items. This year’s find includes a Labradorite Ganesha and Buddha, and Moldavite jewelry.
“Beautiful minerals are hard to find, so when I see one that stands out from the rest, I always bring it back for everybody to see”. Labradorite is a Variety of Feldspar, it offers a spectacular rainbow of green, violet, or orange shimmer. It is said that Labradorite is a useful companion through change, imparting strength and perseverance. It balances and protects the aura, raises consciousness and grounds spiritual energies. It is excellent for strengthening intuition – promoting psychic abilities. It is a stone of transformation. Moldavite is a variety of Tektite; it was formed about 14.7 million years ago during the impact of a giant meteorite. Moldavite is a stone for the new age, because it carries the energies of the extraterrestrial world.
The shop also features all types of minerals, shells, coral, amethyst geodes, fossil Megalodon (shark) teeth, and unique jewelry pieces. You might think the Wharf would sell nothing but souvenirs, but not at this shop. “Nature’s Own Gallery is the place to go to find that special gift for yourself or for the person that has everything”. “Where else can you see or buy fossils millions of years old, beautiful minerals, or dinosaur dung?
