The highlight of the daylong anniversary festivities on the wharf will be a Celebratory Convocation. In the afternoon, live music by the popular local band Doublewide Kings will set the stage. At 5:30, elected officials, business and civic leaders will gather to formally mark the great occasion. Renowned local historian Neal Graffy will regale you with fun and astonishing stories of Stearns Wharf’s colorful history; proclamations will be read; the wharf’s cannon will thunder in tribute; and there will be birthday cake and a toast to mark the great day. And the day will end with fireworks in the harbor, befitting one of our community’s beloved historical treasure.
